We are in business!
We sold our first dozen today! Very exciting! At the end of last week I designed a really nice flier that Greg and I distributed by going mailbox to mailbox in a small part of our town. We have many more fliers to pass out but I was filled with joy that our efforts this weekend paid off.
Our hens are doing a fantastic job! We are getting about two dozen eggs a day now which means that a little less than half of our ladies are laying. Their eggs are SO beautiful and just a joy to gather.
There is such variation and some are laying small eggs still. Those we keep to the side for our own use. I just don't want to sell tiny eggs as adorable as they are. It's all very exciting and also nerve wracking as any new business endeavor can be. There is still much to do. First on the list though is making a nice sign for the end of the driveway so people can stop impulsively if they'd like to meet the hens and pick up a dozen.
